RollinGreens-Organic Food for Healthy Snacks

January 19, 2020

Product Review by Lena Yudina / Sponsored

Regardless of whether or not I am a vegan, adding more plant-based or organic foods to my menu is on my to-do list. Writing this article on RollinGreens-organic food as a healthy snack, helps me to take a step in the right direction.

Cooking and snacking healthily has become an entertaining hobby for me, and the topic of vigorous discussions at work and at home. In the following prompt written on their blog, a Colorado-based food company called RollinGreens, shared their take on this topic. “Living in modern-day America means convenience. No one likes to wait, they want what they want now, and being hungry is no exception.” I couldn’t agree more. I can say that the above statement is true to many people, including college students, busy parents, and modern entrepreneurs. But I can add that nowadays, not only the convenience but also the health benefits of available products play a role.

More and more consumers are searching for healthy dining and snacks. They turn towards natural products available on the market. In this review, I will explore the RollinGreens, its organic foods for healthy snacks, as well as other brands that support green living.

Millet Tots & Crispy Cauliflower Wings

Being an entrepreneur and juggling several projects at a time with tight deadlines sometimes leaves me with no option but eating on-the-go. As a result, my colleagues and I heavily depend on quality snacks, light lunches, organic teas, juices, and coffee options. Doing our green research, attending Natural Food Expo Events, visiting the Fair-Trade & Fairway Markets, brought us to the discovery of some all-natural brands, including RollinGreens. Their terrific vegan, gluten-free Millet Tots, and Crispy Cauliflower Wings with different added spices become a significant contribution to our snacks, regardless of the level of our devotion to veganism. Here I share my recipes, and our opinion on RollinGreens’ products and the quality of their brand.

Snacking In America

“Snacking has become a facet of American life that almost everyone does. ‘The Journal of Nutrition’ in 2010 noticed that, approximately 97 percent of Americans are getting an average of 24 percent of their calories from snacks. The habit of snacking has become such a culturally reinforced learned behavior. Yet it receives a faulty reputation because so many people associate snacking with unhealthy habits and junk food,” said the author of the blog post written for RollinGreens.

I guess it is true that finding quality bites is a time-consuming and somewhat complicated task. But with the food products offered by companies like RollinGreens from Boulder, things are getting less complicated. According to Wikipedia, “RollinGreens is an American convenience food brand based in Colorado. The company’s primary product is “Millet Tots”, a wholegrain version of tater tots.” Continue reading to see what ‘RollinGreens-organic food for healthy snacks’ offers for a “Happy Bite Hour” at your office, home, or school.

Cauliflower Crispy Wings with Teriyaki Sauce

Soon to be available at the Fairway Markets, The Cauliflower Crispy Wings with Teriyaki sauce are a must-have. It will take minutes to bake these yummy bites that are easy to pair with fresh salads or steamed veggies. Cauliflower is one of my favorite vegetables, but yet I have been struggling with recipes. It seems that RollinGreens took the pressure off my shoulders, making these crispy and delicious snacks as tasty as possible. I ate them as such, or put them in my soups, while topping the hot dish with sage and French croutons. One little tip of advice: before baking the Cauliflower Wings, I would suggest defrosting them first. If you leave any of these bites covered in melting ice during the cooking process, they may or may not come out as crispy as they should.

Ancient Grain Millet Tots

The Millet Tots are another masterpiece of the eco-friendly brand from Boulder, CO. Creamy like mashed potato and fluffy like rice, they taste as good as your grandma’s latkes, or French fries, but with fewer oils and sodium in them. They can be a perfect addition to your salads, chipotle style wraps, or a side dish to your meals.

A well-known celebrity behind his nine restaurants and two cookbooks, Chef David Burke highly ranked RollinGreens, their products, and especially their Tots. “RollinGreens, a family-owned business, revolutionized the tot by removing the potato. The Millet Tots by RollinGreens are the only whole grain, non-potato tot available on the market. They fit a range of dietary restrictions, including vegan, gluten-free, and Top 8. (No milk, eggs, peanuts, tree nuts, fish, shellfish, soy, and wheat). These Tots are a low-glycemic index food and do not contain fillers, binders, or batters of any kind.” They are available at a variety of grocery stores and markets throughout the USA.

Some of my Lunch Ideas with Millet Tots

Millets are a group of highly variable small-seeded grasses, that are superior to wheat. This gluten-free food is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, including B complex, Fiber, and Magnesium. Since I’ve included Tots in my menu, eating better shacks, and a smaller portion of meals becomes a reality. I like them warm and often use them as croutons to top my salads. They seem an excellent substitute for the wheat croutons that are so popular in the USA.

The Millet Tots offered by RollinGreens are as delicious as they are fulfilling, which makes hunger and food cravings go away. Here are my lunch dishes that I made at home which included lentils/eggplant soup, veggie salad topped with 12 pieces of Tots, and a cup of organic coffee. It took about 20-25 minutes in total to prepare all the dishes at once. You can exchange your coffee with a cup of Green + Mint tea for a better detoxifying effect. You can also use them as a side dish to your salmon.

Trust Your Taste

Sure, anyone who aims a healthy diet should read the labels on the packages, or consult a nutritionist before including any new food on the menu. For instance, some of the recommended above products include sea-salt and sunflower oil. So those who are sensitive to these ingredients or are on a salt-free diet might avoid these products altogether. But considering the ongoing popularity of the brand, we understand that a health-oriented RollinGreens of Boulder, and the Boulder’ yoga-conscious community put the standards for the wellness of the people high enough to be exemplary and trustworthy. To find out more about RollinGreens, visit their website and click on your preferred location. The nearby store that carries any RG’ products will pop up in the search window. According to my conversation with Lindsey Cunningham, the co-owner of the brand, currently, their company doesn’t ship their products online.

Brand Awareness

Did you know that sharing your brand’s stories online is a great way to reach out to new audiences? In our time, when grocery stores and other markets are overloaded with packaged foods, your product might go unnoticed.
