The following post is an excerpt from my article about Dimash’ Tour in New York City, 2019, that was published in our C/D Magazine. The publication is ready for subscription, and it will go live on December 30th, 2019. Lookup for our future announcements!

The first solo concert of Dimash Qudaibergen in New York City, held at the Barclays Center on December 10. 2019 left the majority of its visitors speechless or curious at the list. The nearly three-hour show of Dimash’s Arnau Tour combined various forms of entertainment, advertisement, and documentary. It aimed to showcase Dimash’s musical abilities, in addition to introducing the wonders of his native culture and the beauty of his motherland Kazakhstan.

Those who joined the concert were slightly surprised. The show provoked a mix of Dimash’s singing with a variety of pop-dances, native ballet performances, and film screening, accompanied by the latest astonishing effects of the digital art technology. The grandiosity of the show lead by Dimash introduced a vast range of musicians, composers, and all those who organized his solo concert in the USA. No wonder why the enormous Barclays Center gathered nearly 20, 000 listeners, on that day, placing Dimash on the same line of popularity with Beyonce or Paul McCartney, who has also performed there in the past. Read on to hear about the Kazakh singer’s multitalented persona and what I’ve called the “Dimash Effect” through my lenses of a publicist.

Dimash Qudaibergen – The Arnau Tour in New York City

In this article, I will share the insight views of the show and some of my thoughts on Dimash’s talents, that I was able to witness and savor. I will define why this event was inspirational for me and why I believe the “Dimash’s Effect” is so contagious among his dear fans worldwide. Honestly, it seemed to me that the primary goal of Dimash’s Tour was not only to impress the audience with his vocal ability to transition between Lyrical Tenor, to Bass to Falsetto, or Italian Bel Canto styles. Neither to showcase the beauty of his voice that has a remarkable range of six octaves.

It appeared to me that he also wanted to inspire people to be more humane and more conscious of their abilities, and share them with the world as generously as Dimash shared his own. Dimash’s popularity grew fast starting with his stunning performances in Russia, Belorussia, Kazakhstan, and China. During the next 2020 year Dimash will partake on a global tour that will add the majority of European countries to his list.

Dimash first appearance in New York, 2019

Some of the New Yorkers might have heard of Dimash before his first solo concert on December 10th. Dimash made his first music appearance in New York on October 26, 2019, where he performed as a guest in celebration of the gifted Russian composer Igor Krutoi, for Igor’s 65th birthday. The unity of these two talented artists left many significant memories in the hearts of music fans who were exposed to the creativity of both musicians. The Russain composer Igor Krutoi, whose songs were performed by singers like famous Andrea Bocelli and Lara Fabian, might have a particular interest in composing songs for Dimash. Many songs that Igor Krutoi wrote or otherwise shared with Dimash Qudaibergen ( Love of Tired Swans, Love is Like a Dream (lyrics by Valeria Gorbacheva, Ogni Pietra ( Olimpico), and more) became contemporary hits and a pure sensation.

In the prior years Dimash performed in the highly-recognized concert called “Slavic Bazaar – 2015,” in Russia claiming first prize in this competitive singing contest. Many of his fans remember Dimash’ performances in his native Kazakhstan and China during the famous “I am a Singer” competition of professional vocalists on the national Chinese television.

#Humanity

Visiting Dimash’s concert at the Barclays Center was a bliss. Somehow, he managed such a vast audience to feel united & welcomed. During the concert, Dimash had to stop singing for several times, allowing his fans to chant some songs with him as a choir,  as a community of strangers united in spirit. At this point, some lady that sat by my side was visibly upset that she couldn’t sing in the Russian either Kazakh languages, so she started to mumble the melody of the song without any lyrics. I heard that many others echoed her voice, trying to extend the pleasure of signing their favorite tunes along with Dimash and the crowd at the gorgeous Barclays Center. I wish I could give that lady and everyone else  a piece of paper with some lyrics written on it so that she could join the singing crowd with even more enthusiasm.

#Singing Together with Dimash

This moment of chanting together with Dimash and his band was unique and wholly unforgettable. The wholehearted chanting spread across the Barclays’, filled out all the spaces from top to bottom, making a stranger in the nearest row a friend. The beautiful digital effects of the show that reminded me of a Refik Anadol’ ‘Machine Hallucination’ Pop-Art Exhibit in New York City, brought everyone to a fantasy world, where the Dimash’s voice, music, sounds, and digital colors ruled the universe. I thought that every true artist, book writer, painter, a talented influencer, has a message to share. Dimash’s message urged everyone to think more about peace and humanity that he cherishes the most and treats as a priority. What a night it was ! What is your dear and most sacred talent ? Have you discovered it yet? Perhaps the New Year is the beginning of New You?

#Bonus

After I left the Barclays Center and arrived at home, I kept thinking of what I call the “Dimash’ Effect” and all these people who came to the concert hoping for ecstasy and enjoyment. The unity of people that Dimash was seeking during the concert earned my vote. For those who wanted to chant, but did not know the lyrics of Dimash’ songs, I’ve created a gift. I have translated and transliterated the words of the songs so that more Dimash’s fans can follow up, sing or even study languages with it. I am sending the lyrics and transliteration of the words that we’ve sung at Barclays to all our email subscribers, Facebook followers and friends who want to sing them with Dimash on Youtube of life at his next concerts. It’s the least I can do to forward Dimash’s message and support creativity. Will you sing with us too?

What’s Next?

Obviously, I will elaborate some more about music and Dimash and other singers like Lara Fabian in my upcoming editions, as Dimash left an excellent memory and provoked more thinking. One of my favorite numbers from Dimash’ Solo concert in New York, his hit S.O.S. was beautifully arranged with the digital display showcasing some of the singers and actors like Andrea Bocelli, Freddie Mercury, Amy Winehouse, Janis Joplin, Bruce Lee, and others. I wondered why did Dimash put them so close to his heart? The other aspect of Dimash’ performance in New York that I want to share is a secret. Wait until our Spring issue of our C/D Magazine to find out!

The “Dimash Effect”
